Kundalini Yoga
We are fond of the methodology, simplicity, and effectiveness of this type of yoga. It is comprised of 4 parts: asana (poses), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and mantra. The goal is to live a healthy, happy, and holy life.
As a person that values efficiency, we have found that this type of yoga activates all the channels necessary in one session. We have found prosperity, intuition, and guidance in this practice.
Where did this type of yoga originate?
Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan came to the West in 1968.
Yogi Bhajan was born Harbhajan Singh Puri, on August 26, 1929, in a part of Pakistan that is now India. When he was just eight years old, he began his yogic training with an enlightened teacher, Sant Hazara Singh. Later, he proclaimed Yogi Bhajan to be a Master of Kundalini Yoga when he was just sixteen and a half years old. When he arrived in the West in 1968, he announced he had come “to create teachers, not to gain students”. For the first time in recorded history, he openly taught Kundalini Yoga, a very old and sacred science for awakening spiritual consciousness within the individual.
His mission was to create teachers. His teachings help to prepare us to transition into the Aquarian age. The age where information is readily available to all rather than a select few at the top of the hierarchy. The age where things come quickly and we lead with our intuition and heart rather than purely our logical mind.
Postpartum Yoga
New moms have experienced a deep physical transformation- one that requires moving the body in a new way.
Having studied the mechanics of a postpartum body, Lisa provides instruction on deep breathing to strengthen the core, back and pelvis while remaining sensitive to any challenges that may arise.
A typical 1-hour private session looks like this:
- Intro and warm up
- Strengthening the pelvis and glutes
- Chest, shoulder, arm openers
- Calf and hamstring, leg stretches
- Meditation
- Close
